When we have hateful thoughts in regard to those around us it not only prevents us from attaining happiness but ruins our physical health (Monkton, 2010).There is a difference in their perceptions of happin ess. Terrys clear of happiness has not changed over the years. Her view has expanded over time and this shows that all along, happiness to her has been linked to the ability to be with ones family. On the other hand, Daves view of happiness has changed over the course of time. Initially, he thought that happiness could be obtained by certain material things. It seemed that he flummox effort and managed to acquire these items but realized that these could not give him the satisfaction that he thought that these items could give him. As a result, he realized that there was more to life that attaining material possessions and that happiness was dependent on the mind of an individual. He realized that he felt happy when he was able to do something that benefited somebody else, such as the beggar that he took to a restaurant.
